The Guinness Book of World Records reported that the series was the most expensive documentary series per minute ever produced. The programme explores ancient life of the Mesozoic Era, portraying dinosaurs and their contemporaries in the style of a traditional nature documentary.ĭeveloped by Haines and producer Jasper James, Walking with Dinosaurs recreated extinct species through the combined use of computer-generated imagery and animatronics that were incorporated with live action footage shot at various locations. The series was subsequently aired in North America on the Discovery Channel in 2000, with Avery Brooks replacing Branagh. The series first aired on the BBC in the United Kingdom in 1999 with narration by Kenneth Branagh. Walking with Dinosaurs is a six-part nature documentary television miniseries created by Tim Haines and produced by BBC Natural History Unit. Basically, what that means is purchasing through the links doesn’t cost you anything extra, but I get a small commission to help buy supplies and pay for web hosting.Kenneth Branagh (BBC broadcast and home video)Īvery Brooks (Discovery Channel broadcast)īahamas, California, Chile, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Tasmania I still think the larger dinosaurs are a better deal than the blind bag figures, but the Mini Action Dinos may be more suited for you if you do not have a lot of space or you want a variety of species in your collection.ĭisclaimer: Zubbie is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for me to earn fees by linking to and affiliated sites. I really should know better than to say I am not going to buy any more of something….especially when that something is dinosaur related. You can also find them on Amazon at: (Amazon affiliate link) Walmart was selling these blind bags for $3.44 each, while Target was cheaper at $2.99 each. Tyrannosaurus Rex is about the same height as the theropod I opened last time, but Tyrannosaurus is not quite as long from its nose to the tip of its tail. The peg allows the neck to rotate all the way around, hinge forward a decent amount, and hinge back a small amount.Īpatosaurus is the tallest of the dinosaurs I have opened. That is a little disappointing, but at least the sculpt is nicely textured.Īpatosaurus also has one point of articulation.Īpatosaurus’s neck is connected to the body by a hinged peg. Besides that gray wash and the black eyes, I do not see any other painted details on this dinosaur. If you look super close, you can see a darker gray wash has been applied to the very top of Apatosaurus’s back. The legs on my dinosaur are a little bent anyway so Tyrannosaurs wobbles a bit while standing.Īpatosaurus looks really plain compared to my other Mini Action Dinos. The Tyrannosaurs came packaged with a clear disposable piece of plastic between its legs to help prevent it from getting warped in the bag. The jaw can hinge downward to open quite far. The lower jaw of the Tyrannosaurus Rex is articulated. The paint looks decent, except the factory completely missed the right eye when applying the black dot: Three eyed Rexy The belly is painted a lighter cream shade and the top of the back has a dark brown wash that highlights the wrinkles in the sculpt. Tyrannosaurus has a bit more paint applied to it than what shows up on my camera. The first dinosaur I picked out was in bag A, and it is the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

If you want to try to guess which dinosaurs I picked out, make sure you scroll down slowly as I open the two bags. Success! I managed to find the two dinosaurs I was looking for at Target.

If you do not know where the codes are hidden on the bags, make sure you take a look at last week’s Jurassic World Mini Action Dinos post for photos. Updated Jurassic World Mini Action Dino checklist with cheat codes I took my updated checklist with me to the store and started digging through the box. Now the blind bags are no longer blind, and I got to see the dinosaurs up close instead of trying to peer at the little images on the checklist.

So, why did I change my mind and decide to buy two more of the Jurassic World blind bags? Well, I saw a video on YouTube by SquirrelStampede, where he opened up the full Mini Action Dino set and shared the codes. This was me last week about the Jurassic World toys: “I do not believe I will be purchasing any more of the blind bags.”
